At AMH Material Handling, every member of our team plays a vital role in how we deliver innovative material handling systems to our customers. At the heart of our exceptional customer service is Neil Baynes, our Head of Maintenance.
A major part of Neil’s role is understanding each client’s unique goals and going above and beyond to exceed expectations through high-quality, tailored maintenance solutions. Our mission is simple: to help businesses thrive with the support of our expert team.
From initial planning to implementation, Neil is hands-on throughout every stage of the maintenance journey. By staying closely connected with our customers, he ensures that each bespoke solution not only meets all requirements but is also continuously monitored and optimised throughout its lifecycle.
Neil leads The Maintenance Team, whose behind-the-scenes work is crucial to the performance and reliability of our systems. They ensure all material handling solutions are properly maintained and running at peak performance—maximising efficiency and driving productivity for our customers.
Since joining AMH just nine months ago, Neil has already seen significant progress across all our resident sites. He describes the pace of work as “fast-paced and very challenging,” but it’s a challenge his team rises to daily. Their efforts are central to keeping our Continuous Improvement Cycle running—always seeking out new ways to enhance performance and stay ahead of the curve.
We’re currently in the process of upgrading our Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)—a move that will enable us to provide even more detailed and data-driven insights to our customers. This evolution will further power our Continuous Improvement Cycle, allowing Neil and his team to make smarter, faster decisions.
At the core of our success is a strong, connected workplace culture. Neil describes our team as “a family.” Through regular cross-functional meetings, we ensure that every department stays informed and aligned. These check-ins foster collaboration, allowing us to share knowledge and support one another as we work toward shared goals.
Looking ahead, Neil’s ambition is to make AMH Material Handling the “number one” choice for customers when it comes to design, delivery, and maintenance. Reflecting on his journey so far, he says:
“We have a wealth of knowledge and experience, which I know can and will make a huge impact on businesses now and in the future.”
